Hello Southall FC

I've just read a news report about your club on the Hounslow Chronicle site, apparently you're trying to move to Western International Market. Here's wishing you the best of luck.

I also read that you're trying to get more exposure in Hounslow through kids coaching etc so please don't hesitate to send any news, events etc to me at my site Hounslow Online - www.hounslowtw3.net.

Just email newsdesk@hounslowtw3.net.

Best of luck for the new season!

Unless boundaries have changed since I lived in the area, it's also inaccurate in describing Western International Market as being in Hounslow. It always used to be in Southall, and as far as I know, still is.

Western International Market

Located near Heathrow Airport less than a quarter mile from the M4 Motorway and just off the A312 Hayes Bypass, Western International is owned and managed by the London Borough of Hounslow.

Southall can play there, I say good luck. How close can yo get to our spiritual home? I really hope this is possible for the club. It will spark interest I'm certain.

Hmm, there seems to be quite a bit of confusion. Yes, it's owned by the London Borough of Hounslow, and the Hounslow Chronicle has it as being in Hounslow in the headline of the article, and Cranford in the text. Cranford is part of the London Borough of Hounslow, of course, so if that's right, then the article is indeed correct.

However Wikipedia (which I accept is not always correct) whilst confirming the market is owned by the London Borough of Hounslow says that it's located in Southall!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_In ... nal_Market

Unfortunately the Western International website doesn't help us much. The history page simply describes it as being "near Heston!"

Tellingly though, the address of the market's tenants association is given as:

8 Market Centre
Hayes Road
Southall, Middlesex
UB2 5XJ.

The address sounds as if it's located in the market itself, so that suggests that it's in Southall.

I notice that the market is relocating to a neighbouring site in a few days' time, which would perhaps explain why it's being talked about as the possible site for a new ground. Anyway, whether it's technically in Southall or not, most people think of it as being so, so let's hope this doesn't turn out to be just another pipe-dream.
