Next Season

Postby Geoff on Sun Apr 27, 2008 5:41 pm

Thanks to Ryan and his boys it looks as though we will finish at least second and be in a position to regain our place in the Premier Division for next season.

However, this can only be achieved if we have a suitable venue for our home matches - a repeat of Perivale Park or Dormers Wells will not suffice.

We have already begun the search - the pitch needs to be a minimum of 110 x 70 yards, railed or roped off, club house for refreshments and preferably dug outs. At a pinch an adjacent pub would suffice instead of a club house.

Any suggestions?

One thing we cannot do is pay a large amount of money (£10K+) to groundshare with a senior club. Our last two arrangements with Yeading and Bedfont Green have been financial disasters and have lead to the Club now being at Step 8 instead of Step 5 where we were in 2005-2006.

Your thoughts are most welcome!
Geoff

Had a look at Hounslow Borough FC(Conquest Club) old ground yesterday and it does not look like anyone is playing on any of the pitches at the conquest club the main pitch which was Hounslow Borough FC old ground is still railed off with metal rails with a concrete path around the edge there seems to be 3 yes 3  dugouts and they are not in the best of condition and there is no stand. The club house and changing rooms dont seem to be in use the changing rooms are in a real state. :(

Also a groundshare option is CB Hounslow Uniteds ground and there first team pitch is in superb conditon they also now have a nice new little seating(benches) stand in one corner of the ground plus a few other standing covered areas around the ground and the pitch has metal rails and decent dugouts and the ground is fenced off with a wooden fence but there are no floodlights but thers is a clubhouse and burger van!.Also right behind there ground is a roped off pitch with dugouts.

Hounslow Boroughs FC old ground is at the Conquest Club Wood Lane Osterley.

CB Hounslow United FC ground is at the Osterley sports ground Tentelow Lane Southall.

I'm involved with

Postby Pablo on Fri May 02, 2008 7:30 pm

AFC Liverpool the new club just being begun.
I help my eldest son run his own junior club in Cornwall and I try to keep a close eye on Southall's on-field exploits. I was born in Southall and spent many happy hours at Western Road.
I went to school with Terry Brown, ex Aldershot manager and now AFC Wimbledon's manager and played in the same side as Glyn Lewis, ex Yeading player and I believe an ex manager of Yeading. I might be wrong about him managing Yeading but I know he was involved there at one time.
