Programme collecting

Postby southall phoenix on Thu Jun 12, 2008 9:21 pm

I have recently started to add to my modest programme collection,
some bought at clubs and on ebay etc. ebay can be expensive and i only buy on there if its one i really want. started to collect more southall fc.

Does anyone on here have a passion for programme collecting?
Do you have any old programmes?
Where do you buy your programmes from?
And what are your favourites?

Appreciate feed back :)

I am very much into football programes and i have a large collection but these days because of a lack os storage space i have to be a bit more selective about what programes i keep and the programes i defo keep are all the Hayes & Yeading United programes home and away i get plus any non league games i go to i always keep the programe. At Hayes & Yeading United they have one of the best club shops for programes i have seen and i aint just saying that because i support them.

I've been collecting programmes (league and non-league!!!) for more years than I care to remember - which includes a fair number of Southall programmes (incl. a few pre-war).. If you want to be a serious programme collector, would receommend "The Programme Monthly & Football Collectable" magazine" which is well worth reading and contains comprehensive advert section - their web site is: www.pmfc.co.uk or phone 01603 449237, hope this may be of some help.

I actually managed toget hold of the southall v slough FAC prog 1978 today on ebay, not a very rare or very old programme but important as it was the first time i visited western road, i remember southall played really well to beat slough 1-0, especially as they were a division below slough at the time.
